We had a lovely stay at the Strathdon. Ian and Veronica were the perfect hosts. Ian even took us to park the car. The room was very nice and clean , and the bed was comfortable. We also had tea and coffee making facilities and even little biscuits. The breakfast was also very nice with plenty of choice. We will definitely stay here again. Thank you for your hospitality x

This four‑star guest house offers reliable comfort, with free WiFi throughout and a welcoming bar on site. The building has a classic seaside guesthouse feel, and the location keeps you close to the action without being overwhelmed by crowds. From the moment you arrive, there is a friendly, low fuss atmosphere that suits both short breaks and longer stays. The property is small with ten rooms, a setting that tends to foster a relaxed, personal experience you often miss at larger hotels. The location is a standout feature for holidaymakers who want easy access to the seafront while remaining within reach of central Blackpool’s attractions. The Strathdon is positioned just 150 metres from the South Beach Promenade, placing guests within a short stroll of sand and sea. This means spontaneous seaside strolls, sunset walks along the promenade, and the chance to dip into Blackpool’s vibrant coastal vibe at any time. Being halfway between Blackpool Pleasure Beach and the Tower means guests can plan full days of family fun or a quick hop to a show in the evening with minimal travel time after a busy day by the water. Inside, the rooms are designed with comfort in mind. Each of the ten rooms features a flat‑screen television and tea and coffee making facilities, ensuring a simple, convenient stay whether you are here for a weekend break or a longer city visit. The on‑site amenities are approachable and easy to use, reflecting the property’s focus on uncomplicated comfort. Expect practical touches that help you feel at home whether you are traveling solo, as a couple, or with family. The overall feel is one of clean, straightforward guest accommodation rather than a glossy corporate hotel, which many guests find reassuring for a relaxed coastal retreat. Food and drink are pushed into a comfortable day‑to‑day routine here. The Strathdon houses a bar on site, making it easy to unwind with a drink after a day on the beach or exploring the nearby sights. Breakfast options are showcased in the dining area, with tags on image collections highlighting English or Irish breakfast and continental breakfast among the choices. This variety helps guests start the day well, whether they are planning a busy itinerary at the Pleasure Beach, a stroll to the Tower, or a leisurely morning by the hotel. The dining space provides a friendly, communal atmosphere that suits families and groups looking to share a meal before heading out for the day. The Strathdon is notably family friendly. The hotel accepts children of all ages and offers policies that accommodate families who travel with little ones. Practical details include the possibility of cots and extra beds subject to availability, and a clear guidance that the total guest capacity is limited to four per room. There is no on‑site pets policy, and the property allows guests to come and go freely with no curfews, which adds to the flexible, home‑like feel. For families, these points translate into manageable, budget‑conscious stays with every member of the family in mind. The presence of family tags in the property’s photo collection and the explicit policies create transparency for parents planning a seaside break. Beyond the basics, The Strathdon invites guests to enjoy a simple but satisfying stay by the sea. The lobby and lounge areas provide seating and a casual space to linger with a drink or a late‑afternoon read. The proximity to the beach makes the sea an ever‑present backdrop, whether you are planning a morning walk, an afternoon by the water with children, or a sunset stroll followed by a relaxed dinner nearby. While the hotel data does not list a pool, the appeal here lies in the direct access to the shore and the relaxed pace that comes with a smaller, well‑located property. This hotel is ideal for a variety of travelers. Couples seeking a convenient base near Blackpool’s famous sights will appreciate the proximity to the promenade and the tower, combined with a comfortable on‑site bar and breakfast service. Families will value the flexible room occupancy policies, the ability to add cots or use existing beds when available, and the welcoming environment that suits children. Solo travelers who want an uncomplicated, friendly stay with good value will also find The Strathdon a reliable option. If you want a simple, well‑located seaside stay with practical amenities and a warm, informal atmosphere, The Strathdon offers a thoughtful blend of comfort and convenience by the coast.
