An anniversary get away From the moment we rang the door bell we knew we would love it at Trafalgar House, Neil welcomed us in and gave us some great information about the area. Our room was just perfect, I couldn't fault anything at all. Everything was just so tastefully decorated Breakfast was just so lovely and a fantastic choice on the menu to choose from. Very well presented, Neil also knew I liked a small portion of Breakfast, which wasn't an issue we had communication before our arrival. There is also a choice of fruit and Cereal to choose from This isn't like your "average" B&B it's more up market Parking wasn't an issue as there are spaces allocated for trafalgar House, Neil was a wonderful host, Nath and I had the best couple of nights stay and we had a fantastic relax after s very busy summer Thank you Neil at Trafalgar House We will be back 😁

Barbara 9.0

A very calm and beautiful environment, faultless attention to detail, high quality breakfast ingredients: delicious homemade jam, wonderful eggs and tea. Neil is a very thoughtful host. I was given a room upgrade and even a tea upgrade for my room! The location was perfect because it was both central enough and quiet. The garden really enhanced the spaces even though it was too wet to sit out in.

About This Hotel

Trafalgar House sits on a tranquil street, a gracefully proportioned Victorian villa set within sub tropical gardens. The setting feels understated yet refined, inviting guests to slow their pace from the moment they arrive. With eight warmly appointed rooms and free private parking, the property delivers a quiet coastal escape that still feels special. The building radiates classic charm while the interiors offer a chic and comfortable vibe. Guests notice the thoughtful balance between period features and modern comforts, a combination that makes it easy to unwind after a day exploring the area. Location is a real asset here. The villa is 700 metres from the sea, placing you within easy reach of the coastline while maintaining a peaceful, residential ambience. Bridge Road feels tucked away yet convenient, with gardens surrounding the villa for a pleasant morning stroll or a shaded afternoon potter. The surrounding area has a relaxed pace that suits couples and families alike, and the absence of crowds adds to the sense of a private retreat. Nearby streets reveal glimpses of local life while remaining far enough from busier tourist hubs. While there is no pool on site, Trafalgar House puts you within a short walk of the shoreline, where sea air and a bracing breeze set the tone for days by the coast. The garden terraces and outdoor spaces provide a place to linger after a beach visit, with sunlit corners and sheltered spots for reading or conversation. For travelers who value proximity to the water above all else, the short stroll to the sea is a simple, appealing thrill that enhances every stay. Rooms are designed for comfort and ease. Each of the eight guest rooms blends the villa’s Victorian charm with modern convenience. Expect calm color palettes, cosy seating areas, comfortable beds, and practical storage such as wardrobes. Several rooms provide living space that invites guests to relax indoors, while larger configurations offer generous space for rest after a day outdoors. The overall result is a restful home away from home that respects the building’s character while offering contemporary comfort. Hospitality begins at breakfast, and Trafalgar House delivers with choices that reflect a traditional British dining vibe. Breakfast options span continental, buffet, and English or Irish fry ups, ensuring most tastes are covered. Guests can start the day with a light bite or a hearty meal, accompanied by tea or coffee as they plan their day. The service is simple and reliable, offering a straightforward start to days spent exploring the coast or settling into the villa’s garden spaces. The hotel welcomes guests who travel with older children, specifically from eight years upwards. There are no extra beds or cots available and the maximum occupancy for a room is two guests, which keeps spaces intimate and easy to manage. The gardens and quiet surroundings provide a safe, low key environment for children to enjoy time outdoors, while parents appreciate the calm atmosphere after busy days. This makes Trafalgar House a good choice for couples seeking a coastal break and for families seeking a peaceful harbour for evenings in and days by the sea. Relaxation comes in many forms here. Gentle garden strolls, restful rooms, and the refreshing sea breeze create a mood of easy respite. The quiet environment makes it an excellent base for reading, long conversations, and leisurely mornings by the window. While the property does not list spa facilities, its tranquil setting, comfortable interiors, and proximity to the coast offer a well earned sense of well being. Trafalgar House is ideal for couples who want romance by the sea, for solo travelers seeking a peaceful retreat, and for families with older children who value space, character, and a warm welcome.
