Everything! From the very helpful and brillant staff to a very clean room with everything I needed, including a superb breakfast and a very comfortable bed for a great night's sleep, followed by a top-notch shower in the morning.

My daughter picked up the key early as we were probably going to get there a bit late, there was no problem doing this and they were happy for her not to pay at the time. The room was clean and comfortable and there was an ensuite which was perfectly adequate for our needs. This place is extremely good value for money, very close to the beach and also the local facilities in Hove. The staff were really friendly and helpful and I thoroughly recommend staying here. These stairs are quite steep and narrow, but if you have a large suitcase, the staff will carry it for you.

Lovely little place to stay Lovely breakfast bits left for you Bathroom quite small and shower head slightly too large for the actual shower so water went out of the shower. Would definitely stay again. Staff very friendly. Lovely little pub downstairs

About This Hotel

Bow Street Runner sits quietly just steps from the sea, a small and welcoming two star pub with rooms. The property is built around a traditional pub atmosphere, yet it stays refreshingly straightforward, offering guests a practical seaside stay with all the essentials. With only three rooms, the experience feels intimate and personal, inviting guests to relax in a friendly, unfussy environment that prioritises comfort and convenience over flash. The location is the standout feature here, sitting at 62 Brunswick Street West with the seafront within easy reach of the door. Guests walking out will know instantly they have arrived in a classic coastal setting that puts the sea within reach without the need for long transfers or expensive city hassles. Location and surroundings The Bow Street Runner is defined by its proximity to the sea. Being just 100 metres from the seafront means you can step outside and breathe in the salty air, enjoy a stroll along the promenade, or simply watch the world go by with a glass in hand from the pub. The tiny, characterful building anchors a traditional seaside experience, where the rhythm of daily life is relaxed and unpretentious. The address on Brunswick Street West places you in a convenient, walkable area that suits guests looking to dip in and out of the coast without sacrificing a good night’s sleep or simple, comforting meals. This is not a luxury resort, but a reliable, friendly option for travelers who value location, value, and a straightforward approach to a seaside break. Beach and pool experience There is no mention of a pool or leisure complex, which keeps expectations aligned with the reality of a modest pub with rooms. The emphasis is on the sea at your doorstep and the easy access it provides to fresh air, shoreline views from a short stroll, and a friendly coastal atmosphere. For guests who want a simple beachside vibe rather than resort style amenities, Bow Street Runner offers a practical base from which to explore the coastal area on foot. You can enjoy the ambience of a traditional pub environment after a day by the water, returning to clean, uncomplicated accommodation that prioritises a restful night’s sleep. Rooms and renovation details Inside the property you’ll find three rooms arranged with the comfort of casual travellers in mind. The listing does not describe major renovation work, so guests should expect a classic, unfussy interior that reflects the pub with rooms concept. The rooms are designed to be practical and comfortable, focusing on a good night’s rest rather than high design. With three rooms available, the property offers a quiet, intimate stay where staff can attend to guests individually. You won’t find elaborate suites here, but you will discover clean, well presented spaces that feel homely and straightforward after a day on the coast. The emphasis is on function and a friendly, down to earth atmosphere that suits solo travellers and couples who want a budget friendly yet welcoming base near the sea. Food and beverage options A light continental breakfast is delivered to your room, providing a simple, convenient start to the day without the need to leave your accommodation. The combination of a pub with rooms suggests that there is a welcoming on site area where you can unwind and soak up the atmosphere, but the core dining experience is streamlined through the in room breakfast service. If you are looking for a more elaborate food and drink offering, Bow Street Runner’s pub setting enhances the sense of a traditional seaside experience where locals and guests mingle in a friendly, unpretentious environment. Family friendliness and activities The property has clear guidance on guest composition. There is no capacity for extra beds or cots, and children are not allowed. The maximum number of guests is two. Pets are not allowed, and there is a minimum check in age of 18. This setup makes Bow Street Runner a sensible choice for adults seeking a simple, quiet coastal break rather than a family oriented hotel. The nearby sea and the pub atmosphere provide light, leisurely activities rather than a formal activity programme. Guests are encouraged to enjoy the uncomplicated charm of a small pub stay and the easy access to the seafront at their own pace. Relaxation, wellness and entertainment The focus here is on a relaxed, uncomplicated stay. Free Wi Fi is available across all areas, ensuring you can stay connected or catch up on emails if you are traveling for work or simply sharing your seaside adventures with friends and family back home. The on site pub adds a social dimension to evenings, offering a comfortable space to unwind without the bustle of a larger hotel. While there is no dedicated wellness or entertainment complex described, many guests will appreciate the low key, homely vibe that supports restful evenings and easy conversation with fellow travelers or locals. Who this hotel is ideal for Bow Street Runner is ideal for adults who want a practical, value oriented seaside stay with a traditional pub character. It suits couples seeking a quiet, uncomplicated break by the coast, or solo travelers who prefer a friendly, intimate setting and straightforward service. The proximity to the seafront makes it a convenient choice for those who plan long walks by the water, simple meals in a pub environment, and a comfortable room to return to after a day exploring. Given the restrictions around children and beds, it is not pitched as a family friendly destination, but rather a relaxed, adult orientated retreat by the sea. Additional information The property operates as a traditional pub with rooms, offering a simple yet dependable package for visitors who prize location, value, and a warm, unpretentious welcome.
