Valerie 9.0

Tasty food . Evening meal nice but only option was a set menu of 2 or 3 courses which seemed a little expensive , would prefer a free choice . Snacks in bottom bar were both tasty and priced well. Breakfast was variable . First day we waited a long time then I was given the wrong hot meal which was quickly changed but bacon was overcooked and fried egg was hard . Second breakfast was served much more quickly and was tasty and hot . Room was really nice, comfy bed , warm temperature , clean and good selection on drinks tray.

About This Hotel

The Crescent Hotel sits in the heart of Scarborough, housed in a Grade II listed building that exudes historic charm and character. Positioned at 1-2 Belvoir Terrace, this small boutique property places you right in the centre of town, yet you still enjoy a sense of seclusion thanks to its leafy Crescent Gardens backdrop. The location is ideal for guests who want to explore Scarborough on foot, with the lively town atmosphere, shops, and seaside attractions all within easy reach. The hotel is just a short walk from South Bay Beach, so a day by the sea is simple and relaxing rather than a tempting trek after a long journey. The square and the gardens surrounding the building create a peaceful first impression that contrasts with Scarborough’s lively coastline a few steps away. From the moment you arrive you can sense the historic spirit of the place. The Crescent Hotel is more than a shelter for the night; it is a modest, well preserved home base in a town renowned for its Victorian seaside charm. Guests appreciate the central setting for day trips along the coast or for discovering Scarborough’s cultural and dining scene within a short stroll. The property’s façade hints at its era, while the interior spaces aim to deliver comfort with a respectful nod to the building’s heritage. This is the type of stay that suits travelers who value location as well as a distinctive, intimate atmosphere over large scale modern hotels. The hotel comprises two rooms, a deliberately small and personal setup that suits guests seeking a quiet, boutique style stay. Each room presents a welcoming, well thought out space designed to feel like a home away from home rather than a generic hotel room. The photos suggest inviting bedding, practical seating areas, and a sense of warmth that makes evenings at the Crescent Hotel feel relaxed and easy. Some images show balconies or terraces and feature garden or sea views, hinting at the additional pleasure of stepping outside to take in Scarborough’s coastal panorama. The rooms are designed to offer comfort after a day of walking along the coast or wandering the town’s historic streets. For dining and drinks, the hotel offers on site options that are visible in the gallery. A lounge or bar area appears to be a central feature, providing a comfortable place to unwind with a light bite or a drink after a day of exploring. In addition, there are images of a restaurant or eating spaces, suggesting guests may have convenient access to meals without leaving the property. The visual cues point to a simple yet satisfying food and beverage offering that complements a relaxed seaside break. If you are prioritising flexible dining arrangements, you will appreciate the ease of enjoying meals close to your room in a setting that feels intimate rather than crowded. Wellness and relaxation do not come from a formal spa at this boutique property but from the comfort of a calm, walkable setting. The Crescent Hotel overlooks Crescent Gardens and sits near Scarborough’s green space and coastline, making it easy to start the day with a quiet stroll or end it with a sunset walk along the coast. Free WiFi keeps you connected as you plan days out, and the proximity to coastal paths and parks is an ideal perk for guests who want an active yet restorative break. The property’s size supports a peaceful atmosphere where you can unwind with a book, chat with fellow travelers in a lobby style space, or simply enjoy the quiet rhythm of a historic townhouse converted into a small boutique stay. Family friendliness is clearly considered with practical policies that apply to children and sleeping arrangements. The hotel notes that children are welcome and that cots and extra beds are subject to availability. The maximum number of guests is stated as two, which reinforces the intimate, two-room character of the property. For guests planning a multi generational trip or bringing young children, it is wise to check occupancy details during booking to ensure your needs align with what the Crescent Hotel can accommodate. The minimum age for check in is 18, which helps preserve a calm, adult friendly environment for couples and solo travelers seeking a quiet seaside mini break. There is no curfew policy, allowing you to come and go as you please while enjoying Scarborough on your terms. Who is this hotel ideal for? If you are after a short break in Scarborough with a strong sense of place, The Crescent Hotel offers a distinctively historic setting in a superb central location. It is especially well suited to couples and solo travelers who value proximity to the beach and the town center, the charm of a Grade II listed building, and the appeal of a boutique two room stay. It also works for travelers who want easy access to Crescent Gardens and sea views from select rooms, with the reassurance of a simple and relaxed on site dining option. Those who appreciate a quiet, intimate atmosphere without the scale of a large hotel will find The Crescent Hotel a refreshing base for exploring Scarborough. If you are seeking a truly local feel, surrounded by history and the seaside, this property provides a memorable, low key stay with the essentials covered and a touch of period elegance.
