Clean comfortable and modern. Everything worked as it should
Spotlessly clean, amazing hosts, great food, smart decor, very comfortable.
Everything, the location, the setup, the staff, the rooms and the food
Super friendly hosts who went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable in every way. Property well presented, clean and beautifully decorated. Tasty meals, delicious. Close to beach.
Sarah and Jim, the owners of the hotel, have done everything to make our stay a perfect experience. As an old man who has travelled the world, I have never come across such a warm, welcoming and helpful couple in the business.
Absolutely everything, felt like staying at a home from home . They couldn’t have made us feel more welcome, and the food was amazing, property was immaculately maintained. Would highly recommend staying here.
Good location. Very friendly owners who did everything to make our stay wonderful. The room and facilities were of a very high standard with lots of attention to detail that made our stay so good. The breakfasts and evening meal were all home cooked and of a high standard. I would highly recommend this B&B
Lovely breakfast and friendly staff.
Lovely clean and lovely room, food was delicious
Very personal welcoming with a coffee/tea tray and a introductory chat. Lovely, well provided room. very well located for the beach with a large park accross the street. And the goodies in the room were replaced everyday which VERY rarely happens these days. The breakfast was excellent and with very nice touches like some of the products done by them, like the granola or the cakes or the yoghurt tops. the recomended taxi firm is known to them and the driver was excellent. Despite the hotel is on a very busy road, it did not affect my sleep. Well insulated. All in all a very personal touch run by a very friendly and informative couple, obviously proud of their town.
The Seaside Hideaway is a gem. The owners Sarah & Jim are the perfect hosts who can't do enough for you. Situated in the North of the town it's a perfect place to relax. Our room was large, very clean & comfortable with coffee & tea making facilities as well as a large screen TV on the wall. The bathroom was also large & clean. In the mornings you were offered a full cooked breakfast which was cooked to perfection & well presented. There is a small relaxing cosy bar & lounge if you don't want to venture out. The property is close to the open air theatre & park. We could not fault the Seaside Hideaway & would definitely recommend.
Convenient location and Sarah and Jim were lovely! Will be back!
The hosts Sarsh and Jim was excellent could not do enough for you The hotel was very clean and up class
Everything
Clean with plenty of drawers & hanging space.
Lovkey little B&B excellent, claire and Jim ,we're wonderful hosts , beautiful room exceptionally clean.
We stayed at the Seaside Hideaway for two nights & it was perfect 👌 on arrival we were greeted with a pot of tea & homemade biscuits. Sarah & Jim are just the perfect hosts, going out of their way to give their guests the perfect stay. It was our wedding anniversary on the day we arrived & when we got to our room there was a card & balloon waiting for us, it was such a lovely surprise. Our room was spotless, great size room and beautifully decorated. Breakfast was lovely, plenty of choice & great quality produce. Seaside Hideaway is our new place to stay, we can’t wait to return.
Breakfast was great, plenty of choice. They had marmite and homemade cake! Delicious. Room was lovely and toiletries were quality. Well run. Did not eat there in the evening but meals sounded good. We had trouble parking at the front once but there is parking on side road not far away. You can walk to the seafront from there. The little train is worth doing nearby.
The hosts were really welcoming from making a cup of coffee when booking in with a nice homemade biscuit, helping with luggage and also directions to the spa for a show and bus no.s and the breakfast was excellent
Absolutely superb place. Sarah & Jim are fantastic hosts and they have created a perfect little hotel to visit. Comfy beds, great decor, fantastic breakfasts, great little evening bar, lovely rooms with so many clever little touches, easy parking, reasonable prices..... Faultless!

Free private parking on site is available, a convenience that many travelers appreciate, and there is luggage storage at the property to help guests manage early arrivals or late departures. Free WiFi is accessible throughout, ensuring you can stay connected or plan your day with ease. The Alexander emphasizes a strong sense of hospitality in a compact footprint, with a terrace that invites outdoor moments and a shared lounge that serves as a social hub. A dedicated bar gives guests a place to unwind with a drink before or after dinner, and the overall layout supports a relaxed rhythm for couples and friends traveling together. The guest rooms are designed with comfort in mind and offer a practical, well considered layout. Public information and imagery point to a range of sleeping arrangements that feature comfortable beds and bedroom style surroundings. The photos reveal thoughtful touches such as seating areas and wardrobes, with many rooms having key elements of modern living, including televisions for entertainment and a focus on practical storage. While the level of renovation or decor varies from room to room, the emphasis remains on clean lines, soft textures and a restful ambiance that suits a quiet country house style. Each room is a private retreat within the same friendly, intimate setting, giving guests the space to unwind in their own way after a day of sightseeing. Dining and beverages form an important part of the experience here. The Alexander operates with on site spaces where guests can enjoy meals or drinks in a relaxed setting. The terrace offers an outdoor option when weather allows, and the bar area provides a convivial corner for socialising. In addition, photographs of the property indicate a dining area or restaurant style space as part of the guest experience, along with a lounge that inspires lingering conversations over light bites or full meals. Where breakfast is concerned, images show buffet style options as part of the overall dining experience, suggesting a range of choices to start the day. The combination of these on site facilities supports a well rounded stay where meals and casual gatherings can be enjoyed without leaving the property. The Alexander’s policy framework clearly marks it as an adults only destination. There is a minimum check in age of 18, and the property specifies that children are not allowed. This makes it an ideal choice for couples seeking a serene escape, or for adults looking to relax in a sophisticated environment without the interruptions that sometimes come with family friendly hotels. The room capacity aligns with this approach, with a maximum of two guests per unit and no extra beds or cots available on site. The lack of children friendly facilities is balanced by the presence of highly practical conveniences such as free on site parking and solid WiFi, which are especially valued by travelers who combine leisure with a little bit of work or planning. The end result is a refined, low key experience that prioritises privacy, comfort and a sense of occasion that suits a romantic break or a peaceful getaway with friends. This property is an excellent choice for couples and adults who value a thoughtfully designed small hotel experience. Its five star rating, compact size and carefully curated spaces create a sense of exclusivity without the bustle of larger resorts. Guests who prioritise easy parking, reliable connectivity and a private terrace or lounge to enjoy a drink or a quiet moment will find The Alexander especially appealing. The adults only policy, the comfortable rooms, and the on site dining and social spaces combine to offer a relaxing home base from which to explore Scarborough’s coastline, beaches and local culture. In short, this is an ideal match for travelers seeking a refined, intimate base with practical amenities and a warm, welcoming atmosphere.
