Superb location. Friendly staff. Excellent cooked breakfast plus a small buffet with cereals etc. Room was quite small, but only as expected in this type of accommodation. Bed was comfortable. Coffee, tea, hot chocolate drink and biscuits provided in room. Great value for money.

Heather 9.0

Room was tastefully furnished with lots of thoughtful extras like cushions, hot chocolate sachets (I don't like tea and coffee), a multi-charging unit and a black facecloth in the bathroom to remove make-up, so you don't mark the white towels. It was also very well lit and extremely clean. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout my stay. The breakfast was delicious. Bed had a top sheet, which was a bonus for me. They also put a light duvet on, at my request when booking.

Lovely couple at hotel, nothing too much trouble. Easy to get about walking if you're ok with hills & steps. Near to Castle, north beach & Peasholm park, not far a walk over to the south side the slot machine area & lemon too ice-cream

Amazing views of the sea and castle. In between the cricket club and the coast. Breakfast was tasty and speedy.

Location is out of this world! North shore, close to the open air venue we was visiting. Also close by was peasholm park and the sea life centre, both of which we visited and thoroughly enjoyed! We was lucky enough to get a sea view room, and we were on the 3rd floor, and what a sea view!! The entire north shore was visible, with the sea life centre and the northernmost point of the bay, to the castle standing proudly over Scarborough to the south. Beautiful! Staff were great , very friendly and professional, and the breakfast was unbelievably tasty! Very good to start the day! Thanks all!

About This Hotel

Perched along Scarborough’s coast, The Paragon – Guest Accommodation provides a welcoming, intimate base for a coastal break. Its location on Queens Parade offers immediate access to the sea and easy access to Scarborough’s seaside charm. With less than 10 minutes drive to the North York Moors, this small guest house is ideally placed for guests who love a mix of seaside strolls and countryside exploration. The property offers free on site parking and reliable WiFi, making it simple to settle in and plan your days at a pace that suits you. The Paragon is a four star style experience in a compact, comfortable package, designed to help you unwind and recharge. The heart of a coastal retreat is the view, and The Paragon delivers here. Many rooms feature panoramic sea views that set the tone for a relaxing stay. You can wake to light on the horizon and the distant sound of the water, creating an atmosphere that feels both refreshing and calming. The public areas are arranged to maximise this sense of place, with seating where you can pause and watch the tide roll in. The house itself has a quiet, homely feel that appeals to couples and travelers who appreciate a smaller, personable property rather than a large, impersonal hotel. Inside the rooms the emphasis is on comfort and practicality. The Paragon offers elegantly presented spaces, and the 14 guestrooms are designed to feel welcoming after a day of exploration. Expect well kept furnishings that provide a comfortable bed and a tidy, well equipped bathroom. In most rooms you will find an in room bathroom with shower and toilet, a bed suited to a restful night, and conveniences such as coffee and tea facilities and a television. Several rooms highlight the sea view, inviting you to unwind with the window open to the breeze and the horizon just beyond sight. The overall aim is simple: a good night’s sleep, a restful environment, and the calm that comes from staying in a well cared for, compact property. Food and drink are a clear focus at The Paragon. Breakfast is described as generous full English and is served to guests, helping you start the day ready for a walk along the coast or a day trip to the moors. The listing and photos suggest there is a lounge area where guests can relax and enjoy beverages, with tags indicating spaces for drinks and socialising. While the property is small, the concern here is to provide warmth and good value, and the breakfast service is a reliable highlight for many guests who appreciate a solid, traditional start to the day. The Paragon is a family friendly option with a few clear guidelines. The policy notes that children older than 5 are welcome, and there is a maximum occupancy of three guests per booking. There is no capacity for extra beds or cots, so families planning a stay should factor this in. The minimum age for check in is 18, which is important for guests travelling solo or as groups. WiFi is available in the hotel and free of charge, and free public parking is available on site, with no need to reserve in advance. These practical points help guests plan a smooth arrival and comfortable stay. In terms of relaxation and entertainment, The Paragon focuses on a peaceful coastal ambience rather than elaborate facilities. The sea views, the calm rooms, and the proximity to Scarborough’s promenade and beaches create a setting where guests can unwind simply by being in the room or taking a short walk along the shore. The location near the North York Moors also invites day trips into nature and scenic drives, making this a versatile choice for travelers who want both sea and country experiences in one trip. Who is this hotel ideal for? If you are seeking a quiet, intimate base with sea views and a traditional breakfast, The Paragon fits the bill. It is well suited to couples looking for a romantic weekend by the water, thanks to its tranquil atmosphere and panoramic views. It also suits travelers who want a straightforward, value oriented stay with reliable WiFi and free parking. Families with older children will appreciate the welcome for those aged five and above and the clear guidance on beds and occupancy, while solo travelers will enjoy the easy access to Scarborough’s waterfront and the surrounding countryside of the North York Moors. In short, The Paragon offers a practical, friendly home from home by the coast, ideal for guests who value location, comfort and a good breakfast above all else.
