Lovely and clean, good location
Paul and Dave set me up with a full english breakfast with coffee every morning
Everything
The property was spotless and the owners were very friendly and professional. Nothing was too much trouble.
Everything spectacular extremely clean, hosts amazing in fact booked again for 3 nights September. This is the best b&b we have ever stayed in! Breakfast lovely too. Just superb!
Just everything in general. Very welcoming hosts. Was really spotless. Breakfast was very good. Good location for attending our concert
excellent
Very welcoming, ideal location for the open air theatre.
Paul and David are the 2 most wonderful hosts and it was our 2nd visit and the same super standards as the first time. Spotless room and en-suite and delicious breakfast. Can't wait till next time .
This lovely BnB is run with passion and it is a very clean and well kept house. In the room you have the possibility to make yourself a cup of tea and the ensuite showers are small but everything you need is there. The house is near North Bay and close to a park and a summer open air event location. You can start here for any kind of activity. The owners are so nice and you can choose from different breakfast options ( not included) which are freshly prepared in the morning. The fruit salad is amazing.
Our stay was amazing and the breakfast was lovely. Paul and David where great hosts. I would recommend them to friends and family.
Great location for what we wanted, both our room and en-suite were immaculately spotless. We didn’t book breakfast however it did smell very appetising as we walked down stairs.
The Phoenix Guest House was lovely. The room was clean and well presented. Paul and David were great and nothing was too much trouble. They were very informative about the area . The breakfast was great with plenty of choices. We will definitely go back again
Our room was just perfect! Bed was very comfortable! Hosts David and Paul were very welcoming and made us feel at home. Breakfast was outstanding! Situated over the road to Peasholm park and beside a couple of pubs. We will definitely book to stop here next time we visit Scarborough. Thanks guys for making our stay a great one!
Great location with lots to do within walking distance the guesthouse is great with friendly owners who provide a really nice breakfast too
Accommodating Host. Exceptional cleanliness Excellent Breakfast
Nice and quiet near to the beach and town.
Excellent location for what we needed. Paul and David were so welcoming, friendly and helpful. A good information pack left in our room about the guest house and surrounding area. The accommodation was so clean and tidy. Ensuite had everything you needed. Bed was comfortable, we had a good sleep. The room spacious with lovely decoration in pictures, cushions, etc. Lovely choice of breakfast. The blueberry pancakes were to die for! My partner had a cooked breakfast and said best he had in ages. If visiting Scarborough again I will definitely be contacting the Pheonix guest house to see if they have availability, best guest house ive stayed at in years.
Very friendly. Cooked English breakfast was excellent. Good selection of fruit juices, fruits and cereal.
The hosts Paul and David were fantastic and were very attentive. Breakfast was quality ingredients and cooked well. Bed was comfortable. Decent location for the cricket ground and also not too far into town or the sea front
About This Hotel
The Phoenix Guest House offers a warm, intimate stay in Scarborough. Tucked away on Columbus Ravine, this six room property makes a friendly base for a coastal break. The address, 157 Columbus Ravine, places you within easy reach of Scarborough’s North Bay, a scenic stretch that invites long walks, sea air and sunset views. This is a place where guests are welcomed with a simple, homey atmosphere rather than a glossy hotel experience. Free WiFi keeps you connected, while luggage storage adds practicality for travellers arriving before check in or departing late. The terrace is a quiet outdoor corner where guests can pause between seaside explorations and plan their next day by the coast. Location is the hotel’s strongest asset. The Phoenix sits close to the North Bay area, known for its gentle shoreline and pleasant strolls along the coast. Guests enjoy a compact, walkable base that makes it easy to dip into the sea or enjoy a drink at a nearby cafe after a day on the beach. Free WiFi is available in all areas, and there is nearby free public parking. With Scarborough’s lively town centre not far away, you can combine restful evenings at the guest house with daytime adventures along the seafront and into the town. Being so near the coast means beach days are effortless. The short distance to Scarborough North Bay allows you to start mornings with a stroll by the tide and finish with a sunset walk. The terrace gives you a light outdoor space to soak up the sea air or to stretch out for a cup of tea in the fresh air. While this is a small property, the outdoor area adds a touch of outdoor living that many visitors value during a seaside break. Inside the Phoenix, six guest rooms await. The listing features bedrooms that, based on the photographs, show comfortable beds and clean bathrooms, offering a straightforward, restful environment after a day by the sea. The accommodation prioritizes practical comfort and easy maintenance, ideal for guests who want a simple, unpretentious place to rest. While there is no detailed description of bed types or renovation history in the data, the overall presentation suggests a well cared for property with a traditional, homely charm. Guests can expect a compact, functional layout that keeps you connected through free WiFi and supports relaxed evenings with your own space to unwind. Food and drink options are not listed as part of the hotel’s on site offering. The Phoenix appears to be a guest house without a full service restaurant, which means you may choose to explore Scarborough’s dining scene for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The convenient proximity to local attractions and the coast makes it easy to plan day trips with meals snapped in town or along the seafront. Family policy details show that children older than 12 are welcome, and the maximum occupancy for a room is two. There are no cots or extra beds listed, and check in typically begins at 2 pm with a latest arrival time around 6 pm. The minimum age for check in is 18. These policies point to a property that is well suited to couples and adults seeking a calm, uncomplicated seaside stay rather than a busy family resort. Relaxation comes easy with free WiFi to plan your days and a terrace to enjoy the sea breeze. The area around Scarborough offers a relaxed pace, sea air, and plenty of chances to unwind after a day of exploration. After a day out, you can retreat to the guest house for an evening in a quiet space or slip into the town for local entertainment and small scale attractions. The overall atmosphere aims to balance comfort with convenient access to the coast and the historic charm of Scarborough. Who is this hotel ideal for? The Phoenix is a good choice for couples looking for a quiet seaside base, walkers who want proximity to the coast, and travellers who value value and simplicity in accommodation. It suits those who prioritise location, a friendly welcome, and easy access to Scarborough’s North Bay surroundings over luxury frills. If you want a small, well located guest house that keeps things uncomplicated while still offering essential comforts, The Phoenix Guest House fits the brief.
