Guest Reviews
Fantastic central location. Wonderful helpful & friendly staff. Great food & lovely room
Quirky
Room was lovely and spacious with a huge bathroom. There was everything you needed in the room. Staff were very helpful and did everything they could to accommodate. Breakfast was amazing, spoilt for choice. We had an evening meal in the restaurant and the meal and service was first class. The bar closed to the public at 11pm, however stayed open to residents The location is brilliant, 10 minutes from the station and less than 5 to the town centre. Would highly recommend and definitely stay there again.
Location excellent. We checked in online & We were able to leave our luggage at reception on morning of arrival so had a full 1st day in York. Check in is 3pm and our luggage was ready in our room. Amazing decor throughout the hotel. Very friendly & knowledgeable staff. Very clean room, bed was so comfortable. Tea, coffee etc in room with fresh milk available when needed. Bathrobes, slippers, eye masks and ear plugs to use. Fresh towels every morning, ‘The white company’ bathroom products to use. Lovely hot shower. We stopped in room 5 ‘The Minster’, great view of the Minster! Plenty of choice for breakfast in the beautiful dining room. Definitely recommend!!! As we’ve stayed 4 times now!
Staff were so lovely to me and my son . Sam welcomed us as we arrived early and looked after our bags. Later Ben showed us our amazing room. The room was so comfortable , spacious. Nice touches too like the fresh milk for coffee in the morning. A sleeep spray which my son thought was a magic spray the helped him sleep! Jackelyn found my charger for me and emailed me to let me know so I picked it up as we were leaving York. We had breakfast early and didn’t get tje waitresses name but she organised a take away box so we could bring some food with us. Ambience of the hotel is gorgeous. Beside the beautiful museum gardens. 7 minute walk from train station. 5 minute walk to Shambles Minster 4 minute walk. . But really everywhere around hotel is fabulous. We ended ip doing some shopping and it was so easy to just pop back to hotel and drop our things instead of feeling laden doen . We will return . Thank you to all the staff that we met and of course we didn’t meet who made our whirlwind stay so lovely.
Comfortable and great location
Lovely location, helpful friendly staff and clean rooms with comfortable beds.
Great location in central York and a beautiful characterful building with an interesting history. The room was lovely with great toiletries and staff on the front desk were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Good breakfast at a very reasonable price. The bar downstairs is lovely but v popular so you need to book to be sure if a table even for midweek lunch
Location, friendliness of staff, excellent breakfast. Good value for money, room with White company toiletries, gowns, slippers, fresh milk, tea/coffee and biscuits.
Breakfast marvellous and location couldn’t be better.
The location, the breakfast, friendly staff.
Great location. The bedroom was tastefully decorated and very quiet during throughout the night.
The location is excellent, very handy for all the amenities. The room was lovely and very spacious, the hotel staff were friendly and the breakfast was delightful and very relaxed.
Period building great dining and beautiful rooms. Loved the cocktails.
Food and service was outstanding. There were loads of extra touches. For example at breakfast you were offered a sunshine shot. A healthy shot to get you going in the morning.
Everything was perfect, the bed was extremely comfortable. I had a hot bath and the extra amenities provided made the experience that much better. Fluffy robes and slippers were such a nice touch. The bar downstairs was an added bonus with great drinks. Absolutely loved our stay only wish we could have stayed longer. Will definitely come back!
The milk for the rooms is fresh and is in a flask, which I think is a lovely touch. The location is fantastic.
Great location, lovely room and excellent breakfast
Great city centre property, well maintained and clean. Checked in by very friendly, informative receptionist who also showed us to our room. Our room was felt newly decorated and was spotless, with White Company toiletries. Delicious breakfast with ample choice. Would definitely stay again.
Excellent breakfast
