The location is ideal for exploring York. The room was spacious and comfortble. The breakfast offering was very good. The full English included black pudding and fried bread. There was a choice of cereals but don't expect any yogurt or fruit. The evening meals are well priced and good value - choice of burgers, hot dogs, pizzas or traditional pub meals. No starters or puddings but filling. There were 2 Chinese restaurants, an Indian and an Italian within an easy 5-10 minute walk. The owner was friendly. The beer was very good.
Good atmosphere, friendly owners. Great selection of food and drinks. Food was plentiful and well cooked and presented.
Friendly staff were very helpful and attentive. The lady that checked me in showed me to my room and gave me lots of information about the hotel. Breakfast was very good and served piping hot.
Good location with an easy walk to the middle of York. Parking was free. Breakfasts were excellent - full English breakfast one morning and eggs Benedict in the next morning. The hotel has a pleasant and comfortable pub with a good selection of beer and cider. The staff, who were also the owners, were really friendly and helpful.

The location to Barbican. The room, though compact was very clean lovely mattress and pillows . Fab hospitality tray. . Breakfast was fab but long wait as not many staff but if not worried bout that we'll worth it.

The location is very good. Just close enough to be able to walk into the city. Just a 5 minute walk to the Barbican centre.
The Victoria had warm, welcoming staff. The food cooked by Tim was nice (we had tea & breakfast) and presented very well. We were able to have a beer when we returned from the gig. Excellent location less than 5 minutes walk away from the Barbican. The room was mostly clean although there were some marks/stains near the shower plug if I was being picky. Clean towels & toiletries were provided. The Victoria has its own car park for residents. We would stay here again. 😊

Very comfortable, clean room. Plenty of space for a single guest. Tea, coffee and biscuits provided which was nice. Despite the rooms being above a pub there wasn't any noise coming from there. The location is great for Barbican, only 5-10 minute walk.
