Nicest room I’ve ever stayed in.

Very satisfied with the room, which was spacious, clean and very quiet. The décor and furniture was tasteful and to our liking. The usual tea, coffee, iron/board were available in the room and the bed was comfortable. The only exception were the pillows, they weren't up to scratch and require changing, in my humble opinion. We stayed there for 3 nights and initially on our arrival, we took one glance at the outside of the building, which isn't the best looking place in the world, and wondered what we were heading into! We feared the worst, but we were suitably impressed with all that we had in those 3 days! The greeting on arrival was great, the staff were very polite and helpful. We only ate there on the morning of our departure and the breakfast was very good. The property is approximately 15 mins walk to the centre of Bath. I would definitely stay there again.

Easy to find great welcome so will return. Nice room over carpark so felt secure for that too. Weather was to poor to use balcony but there's always next time..... Breakfast was fab to so will try dinner next Bears every where a marvellous theme

The Bear is a gem located in the lovely Bear Flat area not too far from the center of town. Tom, the manager, was very welcoming upon arrival and throughout our stay. The room was spacious and clean. While The Bear is next to a busy road the windows were properly insulated and you couldn't hear a sound. We have stayed in many hotel rooms around the world and felt this was definitely one of the better ones. The breakfast was good quality as well as the dinner. As a result we didn't even bother to go out for dinner in (the touristy part of) town. Just keep in mind that Bath is hilly and the walk up from the train station to The Bear is steep. If you are carrying heavy luggage, take the bus (bus stop in front of hotel) or a taxi. PS The Good Bear Cafe (not related to The Bear as far as I am aware of) is just a stroll away from The Bear and a nice place for lunch or just a latte.
