Midway Guest House

Delicious breakfast, really comfortable room and a very accommodating host. Really enjoyed our brief stay in York, loved the city and would recommend Midway as a location to stay if visiting York. Host was particularly helpful and accommodating, even despite a misunderstanding on our part.

An inexpensive stay. Comfy bed, good shower, clean and tidy. Friendly owner.. Not too far out of town.

House with character, good location for city centre and getting out to local area. Owner was great reccomending the available atractions and various ways of getting to them.

I slept so well here! The guest house is in a lovely part of York, and super easy to get to both the uni and the town. I was lucky to get an upgrade to en-suite. I would definitely consider staying here again.

Room spacious and clean. We had a double and single bed. Parking available in front of house. We check out at 10am but was allowed to leave our car in the parking lot while we walked into city center to spend the whole morning until we leave York at 3pm. Very close to city center, we walked and it took us less than half hour. Proprietor very welcoming and helpful as well as knowledgeable. Gave us plenty of information of how to walk or take buses into York center. We would definitely recommend this place even though we only spent a night.

Warm comfortable quite. Good sleep. Left alone.easy parking. Something really nice here but I can't quite put my finger on what ut was.. nice place

Upgraded at no extra cost

Local to where we needed to be. Very comfortable

Everything in our room you could need, we're just used to a king-size bed so double was a bit more confined for us but was ok, TV could of been bigger for room, my husband had to wear his glasses to see it properly but hey- ho. Tea /coffee making facilities were all on tap there in trays in hallway just take what you want+ loo roll, so that was very good. The week we stayed they weren't doing breakfast which was fine, we didn't meet manager just young man who was a student booked us in very friendly and polite, when we saw other staff cleaning rooms they all said hello. Would recommend 😁

Lovely guest house, with free parking. Paul, your host, was most hospitable and super helpful… and also makes a great full English! Convenient and quiet location, very easy to find if driving in. Only a 20-30 mins walk from the centre. Alternatively, there is a bus stop outside, if you’re not up for the walk.

The breakfast was lovely and plenty of it

Good location ideally placed for trips into York.

Clean rooms, friendly and helpful reception (helped me with food recommendations, both of which were excellent!), close to city centre (<30 mins walking distance), great value for money

A spacious, comfortable room with a super-comfy bed. The location is excellent, with the centre of York reached via a very pleasant walk along the river. The host was helpful, friendly, and informative, and having parking was really handy. Overall exactly what was required for my trip.

We didn’t have breakfast. Everything was clean and tidy, no real problems at all. Excellent parking for several vehicles.

good location with parking place, staff is kind but service is somehow limited, in general good
