Very pleasant stay, lovely hosts and great location
Thoroughly enjoyed everything about this stay over, when I return back to York and the UK, a return will definitely happen.
We loved the charm of the property and the proprietor, Jonathan, was extremely welcoming and helpful. Our room was spacious and well appointed with high ceilings, good quality linens, a sitting area, and desk. The location was good, in a quiet neighborhood about a 10 minute walk to the city wall.

The hosts were communicative and welcoming from the start! They recommended really wonderful restaurants before our arrival, so dinner reservations were done and dusted and we had no stress. When we were shown to our room it was perfect! Plenty of space for myself and my college bound kid. The decor is gorgeous and the beds are so plush and comfortable. Even though we were at the front of the house, the double paned windows blocked the street noise, and the shutters blocked the street lights. In the morning we had a delicious full English breakfast with local sausages. The coffee was excellent, and we enjoyed the ambience of the dining room. I also enjoyed the travel tips from our host while we worked out plans for the day. The walk into town was easy and navigating York was no problem from this location.

Very clean, loved the decor. Was very comfortable to stay there and had a wonderful nights sleep. Jonathan, our host was very easy to talk to and be in communication with, he let us check in early and was super helpful. Definitely would stop again.
Jonathan was absolutely amazing and provided us with a map of York with recommended independent venues. He's full of local knowledge and is a real people-person. The breakfast was amazing and made fresh to order by Jonathan and the rooms were really well maintained, a decent size, and exceptionally comfy. The establishment is a leisurely stroll from the city centre or, alternatively, you can easily catch the bus across the road or a taxi. It's very quiet at night so you're guaranteed a good night's sleep.
