We arrived slightly early, but were immediately checked-in, without any issue. Our room was large and the bed was comfortable. We were also given a good supply of tea and coffee.

Quiet street. Good location. Very clean and well appointed room with crisp, cotton bedding and comfortable beds. Plentiful, good quality towels, teas etc and toiletries. Despite being nervous at a phone only check in the process was simple. A big plus is the very reasonable parking charges- only £7 per day. Very cheap for York. New shower with good pressure.

The guest house is a 20 minutes walk to York center and to the railway station. The rooms were clean, the beds were very good and we had a pleasant stay.

Diamonds Guest House is one of four places using the Diamonds name in York.  The DGH is located about a 10 minute walk from the Walls to the Inner City.  Within a short walking distance are several coffee shops, a european deli, pizzaeria and several other places.  We stayed here one night booking at the last minute and were very happy.  The room was a good size, well cared for and well appointed.  The mattress was a bit hard for me, but perfect for my girlfriend.  The woman who runs the place was very nice and very helpful in getting us settled in an squared away.  If you don't mind the stroll to the walls to start your adventure, this is fine place to stay.
