Loved the open fire and excellent staff. Small touches like fresh milk and port in the room was such a refreshing change
Lovely room. Gorgeous pub Fantastic breakfast
Welcoming Friendly Lovely atmosphere Good parking Comfortable room- with port Huge bathroom - loved the school desk Good value
We received a wonderful warm welcome upon arrival. The Inn was lovely and our generous sized room, great bathroom with super roll top bath and very comfortable bed were much appreciated. At breakfast we were amazed at the amount of choice available, everything was presented beautifully and was excellent quality. The vegan hot breakfast was absolutely amazing and cooked to perfection by Greg who attended to our every need - we were very grateful for his exceptional customer service and his warm and friendly personality was the icing on the cake so much so that we would highly recommend the Inn to everyone and fully intend to return for another stay in the future.
Large room, good food, nice staff
Great pub and accommodation - cosy rooms and a fantastic bath! The food is outstanding - both the evening meal and breakfast - all the staff are great and we will def be back.
Excellent breakfast and service. Quirky comfortable interiors. Staff friendly and helpful.
Location was perfect, hidden away in a very small, quiet village, no traffic. The pub itself was very homely and cosy and well laid out. There was plenty of space between tables in the dining area, no sitting on top of each other. The evening menu wasn't extensive but there was something for everyone. The menu was predominantly fish based which made a very pleasant change, but again there were some meat courses. The food was absolutely excellent, very well cooked and nicely presented. Both our main courses were delicious. The staff were very efficient and extremely friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The room itself was very nice, very clean, well decorated and comfortable. The only thing missing for us were chairs to sit on, however we had the smallest room and apparently the other rooms do have chairs. The bathroom was superb, very spacious and everything you could want. A separate walk in shower was a bonus. The breakfast menu had a reasonable selection of dishes and again the food was very well cooked. Couldn't fault any of the facilities in any way. We will stay again.
The ambience of the inn...the cosy fires..the cleanliness of the room..beverage facilities available..the decor..music in the background being played..just lovely
Super location and the food was delicious.
Because there's only 5 rooms the breakfast was more personal not like a big hotel the chap who looked after us in the morning was attentive plus he had the log fire going when we came down!very good the staff when we arrived were brilliant too food was gorgeous not overpriced and location is wonderful out in the countryside at the end of a dead end road very peaceful
The quirky nooks and crannies
Friendly staff and amazing food, well decorated. The bar staff were very helpful and provided wasp spray for our room and took some of the wasps away and also gave us some freebies for the inconvenience. Nice national trust places nearby and not far to York centre.
Gorgeous place to stay, breakfast was amazing too and a great location for a wedding in the area
Very comfortable rooms, lovely building and great food. The staff were great and extremely friendly.
Loved everything!
The location was ideal for visiting York and Harrogate. The level of service and attention from the staff was exceptional. The room was excellent with a well presented bathroom. Food was varied but cooked to an excellent standard in the dining room and the breakfasts provided a good choice and the locally sourced ingredients were excellent.
Really friendly, great food, great beer, comfortable bed. Amazing breakfast. All good
the atmosphere and welcoming staff were very pleasant a quaint building with character
