The Plough Inn

Clean, comfortable and a perfect location for our visit.

Most enjoyable stay at the Plough Inn. Every member of staff I met (six) were lovely, friendly and naturally helpful. Room was a good size with a very comfortable bed and clean en-suite. Ample coffee, tea, water and biscuits supplied. Good selection provided at breakfast by way of a buffet and freshly cooked quality items. Evening meal was excellent in both quality and quantity and at a very resonable price - make sure you book as it is very popular. They have their own parking and nearby bus stops to get you to and from York centre.

Our room, Number 5 had a king size bed that was for myself extremely comfortable as I like a firm mattress and I had a great nights sleep on both nights I was there. for me it was like home from home. The en suite shower, basin and toilet was well portioned but the only niggle I would say is that the ‘waterfall’ tap on the basin would splash you when running as the basin was on the small size for its running, but this really is a small niggle. This is one pub with rooms above that I was not disturbed by any noise downstairs in the pub itself. My wife and I would certainly go back there. The breakfast in the morning was very good too, various Kellogg's cereals to choose from plus yogurts, Yakult, and that was before you put your order in for your full English breakfast.

The overall accommodation was very nice our only gripe was that our bed had a squeak on the smallest of movements which affected our sleep slightly so fix that and the overall marks would be excellent

Lovely traditional pub , with lovely rooms with an old feel to them that made them very Unique.comfortable plenty of tea coffee biscuits and a lovely cooked breakfast .All staff very friendly .Highly recommend eating in the pub food very good .Good bus service into city if you don’t want to take the car close by

Location was spot on and there was a bus stop just outside if you wanted to go into the centre of York. All staff were welcoming friendly and helpful, The food was amazing good size portions but make sure you book

The room was clean and spacious and warm, nicely decorated. . The shower was good. Plenty of tea coffee and sugar choices, with added biscuits😀 We enjoyed a good evening meal, which was brought to us very quickly.
