Sunset Horse Riding Tour in the Valleys of Cappadocia

The hour when the setting sun turns the valleys pink and orange is one of the most beautiful times in Cappadocia. This sunset horse riding tour lets you spend it on horseback, on quiet trails away from the crowds, with the light changing around you.

Three options

When booking you choose the programme that suits you. The 1-hour ride is a short outing through the valleys and fairy chimneys, ideal for beginners and families. The 2-hour sunset ride climbs to scenic viewpoints during the golden hour so you can watch the sun go down. On the 2-hour sunrise ride you set out early and watch dozens of balloons fill the sky from the saddle.

Horses and guides

The rides use gentle horses and experienced guides who know the area well. Before you start you are given a helmet and a short riding briefing, so first-time riders can join comfortably. Your guide stops at good spots for photos along the way and helps if you need to get off and walk a steeper section.

Transfers

You are collected from your hotel by air-conditioned vehicle, taken to the ranch and brought back at the end of the ride.

Good to know

The ride is not recommended for travellers with spinal injuries, poor cardiovascular health or pregnant travellers. Wear long trousers and closed shoes, and bring a light jacket, as it cools quickly after sunset. On the sunrise option the balloons fly only in suitable weather, so some mornings there may be fewer of them in the sky.
